  • Coordinate Board of Directors in collaboration with the Chairperson of the Board
  • Chair the Human Resources committee and maintain Evaluation and hiring processes
  • Chair the Governance Committee and bottom-line any policy/governance work
  • Build connections with community stakeholders in order to move SC’s mission, vision, and guiding principles forward
  • Represent Sustainable Concordia’s priorities, mission, vision, and guiding principles on various university and student government committees (CSU/ASFA/CCSL/SAF/etc.)
  • Actively participate in Sustainability Governance Framework subcommittees and assist in developing advocacy strategies alongside other student representatives and stakeholders
  • Create and maintain yearly action plans for the organization by synthesizing collective 
  • Liaise with various university stakeholders to advocate on SC’s behalf
  • Organize organizational development retreats 
  • Lead planning for Annual General Meeting and Yearly Report 
  • Lead projects and initiatives in collaboration with other coordinators as needed/desired
  • Act as Sustainable Concordia’s official booking officer and assist in planning events with other Coordinators
  • Liaise with University Security officials to maintain keylists and accessibility of the Z-Annex space
  • Coordinate booking of Z-Annex collective meeting spaces (boardroom, meeting rooms)
  • Collaborate with other organizations in the Z-Annex to maintain and organize the cleanliness and organization of student spaces
  • Work to maintain non-hierarchical and consensus-based culture of the organization

Skills, Experience: 

Necessary qualifications and/or experience:

  • Experience in organizational logistics (administration) including action planning, budgeting, and evaluation
  • Knowledge and experience with Sustainable Concordia and/or the sustainability community at Concordia University
  • Familiarity with non-hierarchical and Non Profit organizations
  • Experience using consensus decision-making mechanisms
  • Experience engaging multiple stakeholders in project/initiative development
  • Experience developing and writing policy
  • Excellent English speaking and writing skills
  • Working knowledge of the French language 
  • Proficiency with computers and online file sharing platforms (Microsoft office, Google applications) 
  • A good sense of time management, ability to prioritize long task lists, and autonomy in completing work
  • Experience solving difficult problems requiring input from multiple perspectives
  • Passion for sustainability in general and implementing practices of sustainability in institutions of higher education
