RECREATION COORDINATORSummary of positionUnder the supervision Program Director, Department of Children, Youth and Families, the Recreation Coordinator is to develop, implement and evaluate socio-recreational programs, activities and services for children and youth involved in programs within the Children, Youth and Families department.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess needs of program participants; develop and implement curriculums and innovative approaches/programs that empower program participants; coordinate all socio-recreational program operations; manage socio-recreation budget and supplies; recruit, supervise and support part-time staff, interns and volunteers; evaluate programs on an ongoing basis; effectively deal with disciplinary issues of program participants.
- Oversee the management of children during socio-recreational activities; work collaboratively with other coordinators to ensure effective programming and support for program participants; assist in the evaluation of part-time staff; participate in and facilitate team meetings and training; participate in departmental special events.
- Assist with all program outreach, carry out administrative duties related to job tasks, and participate in special events and activities of the Centre.
- Work to develop and maintain partnerships with relevant organizations; develop positive interpersonal relationships with parents, team members, volunteers and program participants.
