Gallery Attendants: Symbols of Resistance

 We are now hiring Concordia studentsto work part-time as Gallery Attendants to staff the upcoming SYMBOLS OF RESISTANCE: an exhibition celebrating the convergence of Black artists and their stories, featuring Black-identified, Montreal-based visual artists exploring Black identity and representation.

The Gallery Attendants will be responsible for assisting in the set-up and take-down of the exhibition and will open the gallery up to the public throughout the month. During opening hours, the attendants will represent the exhibition to the public - the art itself has been created to carry community stories, histories and perspectives and express Black identity in Montreal in relation to the intersecting themes of women, diaspora, resistance, LQBTQ communities, immigration, space, families.

Bilingualism (French/English) is required and related experience is an asset.

Each contract is a total of 34 hours at 15$/hour and the contracts begin January 27 2018.

  • The Assistant Kitchen Coordinator role focuses on enabling community members to develop and share
  • their cooking skills through our Meals-on-Wheels volunteering opportunities, workshops and other
  • activities in the kitchen. They will also play a strong role in kitchen components of the Roulant's social
  • entrepreneurship initiatives. The chosen candidate will work in close collaboration with Kitchen Co-
  • Managers who shares responsibility for the Meals-on-Wheels program, the staff members of the Kitchen
  • Committee and the broader community.

  • Offer support to the kitchen management team in the following ongoing project areas
  • • Managing volunteers a few days per week for the Meals-on-Wheels daily meal service
  • • Transforming seasonal foods in our food cycle program
  • • Preparing food for special events (such as our annual fundraising Gala)
  • • Supporting the intergenerational cooking workshop series
  • • Managing the ecological use of kitchen waste in collaboration with the Compost Collective

  • This is a temporary position at 32 hrs/week and a forecasted start date of February 5st, 2018 and ends on
