Health Director (Vancouver/Gambier Island)EUREKA OUTDOOR CAMP is a non-profit charitable society offering overnight outdoor recreational programs for children and adolescents with invisible disabilities. These can include learning disabilities, ADD/ADHD, Tourette Syndrome, mild autism etc. The disabilities may be congenital or as a result of injury. Our summer program offers campers a chance to try new skills and make friends in a friendly environment where our staff participants have a good understanding of invisible disabilities and related disorders and the challenges they create.JOB SUMMARY:Reporting to the Camp Director, the Health Director is responsible for the coordination of and response to the daily health care needs of the camp community. The successful candidate will be certified OFA-3 or hold Advanced Wilderness First Aid or be a registered nurse and, have a demonstrated understanding of the needs of children with invisible disabilities/neurological deficits.  The following elements are characteristic of our program and staff should be able to develop and maintain the following• Maintain a highly structured environment, especially with regard to the distribution and security of medication and emergency procedures.• Provide consistent leadership, supervision and direction with simple rules with regard to appropriate behaviour.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The Health Director's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:• Executing emergency procedures as required and act as first responder in emergency situations • Ensuring the secure storage of all prescription and non-prescription medication• Dispensing medication to campers and administering first aid to campers and staff. • Collecting and administering health care information • Keeping records of treatment and medication for both campers and staff • Maintaining an inventory of supplies and equipment having regard to safety requirements and budgetary considerations• In partnership with the Camp Director, maintain contact with campers' parents regarding serious medical issues as defined by the Camp Director. • Working to maintain health and safety standards in all aspects of camp programming • Providing health and wellness education to the camp community (e.g. sun safety, hand washing, etc.) • Be available on-site for all staff training.• Pre-camp, the Health Care Coordinator will work with the Camp Director to implement health care procedures and coordinate First Aid. • Post-camp, the Health Care Coordinator will complete an end of summer review with recommendations for the next camping season.

We are located on Gambier Island, a quick ater ti ride away from Horseshoe Bay in Vancouver.POSITION: SPECIAL NEEDS LEADERSJOB SUMMARY:Reporting to the Camp Director, Special Needs Leaders provide a safe and structured cabin environment for campers with neurological deficits such as ADD/ADHD, Tourette Syndrome, mild autism, learning disabilities and other associated disorders. Campers with neurological deficits (invisible disabilities) typically require a higher level of support, knowledge and care than mainstream campers. Special Needs Leaders support campers who would otherwise not be successful in a mainstream environment.The following elements are characteristic of our program and special needs staff should be able to develop and maintain the following• Maintain a highly structured program especially with regard to daily routines.• Provide consistent leadership, supervision and direction with simple rules with regard to appropriate behaviour.• Use of natural and logical consequences for encouraging behaviour rather than punishment.• Individualize and adapt activities to specific needs encouraging cooperation rather than competition.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESHaving regard for the above, staff will:• Participate in staff training.• Review reports and other documents relating to a campers general health and well-being as well as specific information related to the campers disabilities.• Plan for and implement a safe and structured cabin environment.• Encourage the progressive development and maintenance of sequencing skills that will support the continued integration of the camper.• Encourage and support participation in camp activities, ensuring the provision of extra support where required.• Actively observe for indications of stress to ensure a positive and happy experience for each camper.• Provide a leadership role within each cabin group to support a safe and enjoyable experience for campers.• Submit camper reports and incident reports in a timely manner.

Le Festival de la Semaine italienne de Montréal est à la recherche d'un(e) Coordonnateur(trice) du développement touristique.La Semaine italienne de Montréal est un festival culturel à saveur internationale, qui se déroule annuellement à travers la ville. Plus précisément, la Semaine italienne de Montréal est un festival qui honore la beauté et la diversité de l'Italie et de la communauté italo‐canadienne et permet aussi de faire découvrir sa culture musicale, artistique, gastronomique et folklorique au reste du monde. PRINCIPALES RESPONSABILITÉS

  • Développer le marché touristique en promouvant le festival avec divers contacts et en proposant des nouveaux moyens de promotion;
  • Responsable d’optimiser l’offre des attractions touristiques du festival en collaborant avec la Directrice;
  • Mettre à jour la liste de contacts des bureaux de tourisme et des hôtels;
  • Créer des échanges de visibilité avec des partenaires dans l’industrie du tourisme (hôtels, sites web, blogues, médias sociaux, institutions);
  • Développer des forfaits avec les institutions hotellières pour les touristes et les festivaliers;
  • Créer des relations avec des organismes touristiques à l’étranger;
  • Exécuter toute autre tâche connexe.

AUTRES RESPONSABILITÉS

  • Recruter une équipe de bénévoles pour l’événement, créer leur horaire et liste de tâches
  • SUR LE TERRAIN DU FESTIVAL : Co-responsable des bénévoles et de l’exécution de leurs tâches;
  • Recherche de films pour le répertoire des projections cinématographiques.

CONDITIONS DE TRAVAIL

  • Poste temporaire à temps plein du 11 mai au 28 août 2020
  • 35 heures/semaine
  • Taux horaire : 15 $ / heure
