Welcome Week Staff Managers


The Welcome Week Managers will individually and collectively manage and coordinate different Welcome Week events. This team will participate in the execution of all Welcome Week events in various roles and must be available to work part-time from August 20th to September 7th. Welcome Week Managers must be responsible, in order to ensure that Orientation is safe and enjoyable for all students. The Managers will also ensure that all Welcome Week staff complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner. The Managers will work under the direction of the CSU Student Life Coordinator and the Internal, External, and Sustainability Welcome Week Coordinators.

Contract duration:

• 5-10 hours per week until September 2nd

• 20-25 hours per week during Welcome Week (September 3rd–September 7th)


• Making sure that all staff are signed in and out throughout Welcome Week 2019
• Being present at work in a timely fashion
Acting in a responsible manner while representing the Concordia Student Union
Reporting to the CSU Executives and the Internal, External and Sustainability Coordinators on a continual basis to provide progress reports and gain input on Welcome Week
Overseeing general staff and assisting with their tasks to ensure every event runs smoothly
Event set-up and take-down
Inventory reports/management
Selling food and drink vouchers
Assisting in crowd control
Overseeing distribution of free merchandise
Other responsibilities as determined by the CSU Student Life Coordinator

LIC Assistant


The Legal Information Clinic (LIC) is a service provided by the CSU to offer legal information and referrals to our community. Volunteer law students provide legal information about immigration law, consumer protection, discrimination and other fields of law with the assistance of the LIC Coordinator. The LIC also provides accompaniment services and referrals to legal practitioners.

The LIC Assistant must be available to work at least 2 or 3 days per week during the LIC's operating hours, between Mon. to Friday,13:00 to 17:00.

- scheduling & making appointments
- taking messages & answering phone calls
- writing up protocols/office procedures, administrative reports and articles
- putting documents & materials on the intranet and internet
- maintaining the library and ensuring resources are up to date
- submitting requisitions for payment/reimbursement
- training volunteers and new clinic staff in office procedures
- organizing events & training logistics
- ordering supplies & ensuring desks are equipped with supplies and required forms at all times

- collecting & compiling stats and feedback for reports and evaluating clinic's services

- editing documents
- handling and sending correspondence

- maintaining order in office of files, supplies, and other administrative tasks

Service Centre Audio-Visual Agent


Scope:Reporting to the Service Centre Supervisor, the incumbent provides front-line customer service and performs a variety of technical support tasks of Audio-Visual and computer equipment.  Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Service Centre Audio-Visual support team offering services to the University community for classes, events, projects and research.
  • Deliver, set-up, tear-down and troubleshoot Audio-Visual equipment in classrooms, labs, special venues and in remote locations as required.
  • Perform routine maintenance and installation of equipment and work stations.
  • Maintain inventory, maintenance duties, repair activity and problem resolution information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
